Excited About 2009!

Are you ready for a new year? A fresh start, new beginning, clean slate and all that? It's exciting to think of the possibilities ... and then reality often hits. When that happens, remember, God offers that "fresh start, new beginning, clean slate thing" moment by moment. So, we can live excticed about the possibilites!

This year our class is full of possibilities! We have plans to "pray-in" the new year, make our marriages even better, and become stronger in our faith through Bible study. We have healthy children and beautiful babies born in 2008 to watch grow (with at least one more to welcome this year)! And we have incredible friendships to strengthen and enjoy even more.

One of the goals our class set is to begin small group book-chat type studies. If you know of a book that would be good for this, or a topic that you'd like to study let us know. We'll see if we can get some groups forming soon!

November 30 Lesson Recap

Too busy to connect with God? This week we shared ideas on how we can make more time in our lives to do just that. Practical ideas for saving time and scheduling wisely, along with ways of using music, scripture post-its, radio programs, story time with kids, etc. to help turn ordinary moments into spiritual moments were discussed. In Luke 10:41-42, Jesus told Martha, "you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her." When our lives get hectic, it is easy to forget that only one thing is really needed. To help us keep that one thing a priority in our lives, we were each given a December calendar and encouraged to either make note of some our moments spent connecting with God, or to set personal goals that will help us to connect with God.

Next week, Wyatt will begin a Christmas series. He asked that you come prepared to share about one of the best (material) gifts you have ever received.
